How to Wash & Care for Your Bikini and Trunks

Your stage wear works hard on show day — tan, glaze, sweat and all. 💎

Taking a little extra care when cleaning your bikini or trunks will help protect the fabric, crystals and connectors and keep them looking stage-ready for longer.

Not sure where to start?

Watch the video below for my step-by-step guide to safely washing your Nikini bikini or trunks.

Step-by-Step Care Guide

1. Prepare your wash
Fill a clean bowl or sink with lukewarm water and add a small amount of gentle detergent.

2. Wash gently
Submerge your bikini or trunks and gently work the water through the fabric. Avoid aggressive rubbing, twisting or scrubbing.

For stubborn areas of tan, use a soft-bristled brush and work gently over the affected area.

3. Rinse thoroughly
Rinse with clean, lukewarm water until all detergent and tan residue has been removed.

4. Remove excess water
Do not wring or twist your garment.

Instead, lay it flat on a clean microfibre towel and gently press to absorb excess water.

5. Air dry
Allow your bikini or trunks to air dry naturally. Keep away from radiators, tumble dryers and direct heat.

A Little Crystal TLC 💎

Your Nikini has been handmade and every crystal has been individually applied.

Occasionally, a crystal may come loose — especially after competing, travelling or washing. Don't panic! Spare crystals are supplied with your bikini so they can easily be glued back into place.

You may also notice that the crystal glue temporarily turns white when wet. This is completely normal and it will dry clear again.
